Da Nang's rainy season runs from September to December. October is the wettest month, with about 630 to 650mm of rain over 20 days, and storms are most likely in October and November. Most of the city keeps going: the Dragon Bridge show in light rain, night markets, museums and covered bars. Check nchmf.gov.vn for storm warnings.

From September to December, with the most rain in October and November. The dry season runs from January to August.

The caves and pagodas give you shelter on a wet day, and a Da Nang resident's rainy-season guide lists them as a wet-day option. The climb to the lookout is outdoors, so save it for a dry spell.

Getting around, what to wear and checking warnings
- Book a car rather than riding a scooter in the rain. You arrive dry, and you don't ride wet roads at night.
- It stays warm, so skip the heavy coat. Pack a light rain jacket, quick‑dry clothes and closed shoes, and a light layer for December evenings.
- Vietnam's National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting posts storm, tropical depression and heavy rain warnings, with an English version.
- When a storm does come through, a Da Nang resident's guide says it usually disrupts one to three days. Keep trips to Ba Na Hills, Hai Van Pass and Son Tra flexible.
