One evening, three things Da Nang does well: colour over My Khe Beach at sunset, the Dragon Bridge breathing fire over the Han River, and a DJ set by the sea.

The bridge only performs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, so plan for one of those. The weeknight version is further down.

The plan, Friday to Sunday

Half an hour before sunset: the beach
Start on My Khe. The beach faces east, so the sun goes down behind the city while the sky over the sea turns gold and pink, and the colour lasts about twenty minutes after sunset. At The Roof, tables can be booked from 14:00 to 20:00; sea-view tables seat up to three and are the first to go.
Around 19:00: dinner
Stay by the sea or go into town. The Roof's kitchen serves until 22:30, from crab fried rice and shaking beef to pizza and sharing platters.
By 20:45: cross the river
Take a Grab to the Dragon Bridge: about 4 km, 10 to 20 minutes in evening traffic. The bridge closes to cars shortly before the show.
21:00: the Dragon Bridge
Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and on major holidays, the dragon breathes fire for about two minutes and then water for about three. Stand near the head for the full effect and expect to get wet there.
After the show: the east bank
Son Tra Night Market starts beside the bridge on Ly Nam De and Mai Hac De, with street food into the night. The Love Lock Bridge and the Carp-Dragon statue are a short walk along Tran Hung Dao.
23:00 on Saturday and Sunday: the swing bridge
The Han River Bridge turns on its central pillar and stays open for about an hour. One of the odder sights in the city.
Back to the beach
Or finish with the DJs. At The Roof, Friends After Dark (Friday) and Saturplay (Saturday) run until 01:00, Just Chill (Sunday) until 23:00. After 20:00 seating is walk-in, first come, first served, and there is no cover charge.

Tuesday to Thursday

There is no bridge show on weeknights, so keep the evening on the beach: sunset, dinner, then the night's DJs at The Roof. Views on Tuesday (22:30 to 00:00), Girls' Night Out on Wednesday with free-flow wine for all girls, and Lovers & Friends on Thursday.

Rain

Da Nang's rainy season runs roughly September to December, with the heaviest rain in October and November. Bring a light raincoat, check the forecast before crossing town, and expect Grab fares to rise when it pours.

Show times and seasons were checked against Da Nang's official tourism portal, and sunset times against timeanddate, in September 2026. Holiday schedules add extra show nights, so check before you go.
